Bethel International School

COF is providing quality education for the children attending Bethel International School.

Bethel International School began the summer of 2008. The children are being taught English. State of the art curriculum is being used that will provide children with the necessary standards needed for graduation and further education.

*According to Smile Foundation of India (www.smilefoundationindia.org) the government estimates, out of 200 million children in the age group of 6 to 14 in India, around 59 million do not attend school. Of the rest, who are currently in school, four out of every 10 children beginning to attend school will drop out before completing their primary school education. Studies done, report that not more than 30 per cent of school age children (6-14) can read simple text fluently or do basic arithmetic sums.

*Of India’s 128 million children between ages two and six, about two-thirds nationwide lack access to formal early education. For the approximate 6 million children living in India’s impoverished urban slums, only 1.5 million are reached by the government’s Integrated Child Development Scheme to promote early education.
